Venezuela, Republic. An Order of the Liberator, Grand Cross Star, c.1930 consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac one small pawnbroker’s test mark(Orden del Libertador). Promoted to Order by President Antonio Guzmn Blanco in 1881. Type II. In silver and silver gilt, a multiple rayed eight pointed star with clusters of smooth rays, the obverse presenting a right facing portrait of Simon Bolivar, surrounded by an enamelled blue border inscribed SIMON BOLIVAR, as well as by a ring of silvered bronze beads, the reverse presents a thin singular pin typical of French manufacture, marked with a boars
