This is an very nice example of the Model 1891 Argentine Mauser rifle, one of many "export" models made for foreign governments, all based on the Mauser Model 1889. It was later sold out of service, and had the Argentine crest removed from the top of the receiver. As with others we have seen, it has been "sporterized", shortening the barrel to 22 inches and removing the front portion of the stock, resulting in a
